HydroShare is CUAHSI's online collaboration environment for sharing data, models, and code. With the Resource Creator tool, you can save data in HydroClient to your HydroShare account. For instance, if you discovered an interesting data set you could save the data set to HydroShare and share it with other HydroShare users. Data that is saved to HydroShare is created as a "resource." A resource in HydroShare is the data and metadata packaged together as one entity. Resources can be created, modified, versioned, shared, annotated, discovered, and accessed.
To access the Resource Creator, you must first complete a search and save one or more data series to your Workspace. If you are unsure how to search for and save data to your Workspace, please visit the following articles: Searching for Data and Saving Data to the Workspace.
In the Workspace, click on up to ten different rows at a time to highlight the data series you are interested in. After highlighting data series, click on the Select Tool dropdown and choose Export to HydroShare as shown below. Click the Launch Tool button.

The HydroShare Resource Creator will launch in a new window. You will be prompted to log into your HydroShare account if you have not already done so.
Your selected resources will be shown in a table along with their respective metadata. Before creating your resource, you may choose which data series should be included in the new resource. Be aware that the Resource Creator currently only supports WaterML 1.0 and WaterML 1.1 return types. Scrolling right on the table will reveal additional metadata.
Before creating your resource, be aware that the resource must have a title, abstract, and at least one keyword, as well as at least one data series selected. The Resource Creator will automatically generate a resource title, abstract, and keywords for the resource, and you may edit these fields now, or on HydroShare after the resource is created. When creating a Time Series resource, be aware that the total value count cannot exceed 100,000.
By default, your resource will be private, but you may make it public by checking the Make Resource Public box.
Finally, after making any desired changes, you may choose to create either a Time Series resource, or a Referenced Time Series resource. To learn more about these two resource types, please see the following articles: Reference Time Series and Time Series.
Once the resource has been created, you will be prompted to view it on www.hydroshare.org as shown below.
If an error occurs while creating the resource, you can deselect the series which caused the error, and attempt to create the resource again. If you run into an error, please contact help@cuahsi.org and provide instructions to reproduce the error.
