WaterML

WaterML or the Water Markup Language, is a strain of Extensible Markup Language (XML) that has been developed specifically for the exchange of hydrological data between information systems. In CUAHSI HIS, WaterOneFlow Web Services send requests for data and the data response is shared in WaterML. WaterML is increasingly becoming recognized as the standard international language for water data transmission. It has even been adopted by the Open Geospatial Consortium, which is an international body that develops publicly available interface standards, and has been recommended for adoption by the World Meteorological Organization.
